Sunday Stash

The stash today is a group of Halloween fabrics that I found at a local church garage sale this past week.

I know many out there aren't ready for summer to end, but I'm ready for fall to come! I absolutely love fall! All of the colors, the cooler weather so you don't sweat as soon as you walk out of the air conditioning, apple picking, and so many other things... Love it!

Sunday Stash #7

My stash today is another set of batiks that Mom and I have gathered from a few quilt shops on our trip. I know I said that we were done collecting batiks for the Grandmother's Flower Garden, but how many quilters do you know that would pass up absolutely gorgeous fabric?? Okay, I suppose we do everyday, but we just couldn't resist these! (Plus they were on sale!) Now to just keep on working my little butt off to continue on my flowers!

Sunday Stash #6

After my fabric frenzy last weekend, I decided to go a little different route with my Sunday Stash today. I've started collecting selvages lately, so my stash shot for today is all I've gathered so far:

I'm hoping to someday make a spiderweb quilt once I have enough selvages, but I'm sure that won't be for a while.

Sunday Stash #5

As you may have guessed, the Sunday Stash for today is all of the goodies that I got on my trip to the International Quilt Study Center and Museum this weekend! We stopped at 5 different stores, and of course, I had to get a little something from each! Some things were bought to go along with a project, for a new project, or just because they were too fun/cute and I couldn't leave them in the store.

Sunday Stash #4

Happy Father's Day to all dads out there!

I got these adorable fabrics yesterday at JoAnn's while picking up the white sashing fabric for my 9-patch quilt.

The batik on the left will be used for my Batik Grandmother's Flower Garden. I don't have anything planned for the other two yet, they'll just become part of my ongrowing stash.

I also worked on my 9-patch quilt a bit, am ready to put my border of 2" squares that were used in my blocks. I am absolutely loving how this quilt is turning out!

Off to do a few things and head to bed for another week of work. Thankfully only a 3-day week! It's my Friday off, and I'm taking Thursday off for my birthday!

Sunday Stash #3 and some purdy flowers!

My stash shot today is of some other brights that I picked from mom's closet of fabric. I thought I had enough blocks finished for my "Summer Fun" 9-patch, but after we did some figuring, I need some more blocks to make it the size that I want. So we dug out some others, many that have been used on previous projects and have great memories. I know what I'll be doing tonight!

Today was also garage cleaning day and getting ready for a garage sale, but I snuck away for a couple minutes after cleaning and got these shots of some of mom and dad's gorgeous flowers!

[A little early] Sunday Stash #2

I know it isn't quite Sunday, but I thought I would do my Sunday Stash post since I'm working on this stuff anyways.



My Sunday Stash tonight is all of the batiks that I have left to cut hexagons out. As of now, I'm just cutting enough for one flower of each until I figure out exactly how many flowers I will need for my Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. I have a total of 59 flowers done as of now, 19 of which I have already connected. I am surely on my way! I figured I will need more than a hundred for my quilt, so I'll be working on this thing for a while! There are a few trips to visit family in the works this summer, and maybe some camping trips, so there will be some quality road time to get a good amount done. One of the best things about road trips is the things you get done while on the road! Along with the wonderful music and conversations of course :o)

Also, I just have to share with you something I read today that was wonderful! Alison Kelley did a little post she called "Instructions For Life" and you all must have a read. So many on there are things we must always remember! One of my favorites is....okay, there are way too many to choose from, but I'll go with this one: "Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely." So very true!

I'm back to working on my batik flower garden! Hope you got to do some sewing/crafting today!

Sunday Stash #1 & the day's events

I've seen many others doing the "Sunday Stash" post on their blogs, so I decided to throw one out there for today:


I found this fabric at JoAnn's in the remnant bin, and fell in love with it! I am not a fan of sushi, in fact it pretty much grosses me out, but the colors are great! I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for, maybe an apron or some pot holders, but for now it is just sitting in my fabric bin.


Today was a day of shopping for pots and flowers and planting. For Mother's Day, the hubby and I gave mom money to purchase flowers this year, and I offered to help her plant them all. We got all of the flowers for her pots and the front of the house, but will have to do more planting later on the side of the house and back in her garden. The parents are getting a few trees taken out of the back that are dead, and she didn't want to do the planting just yet. That will be another weekend. What we did today turned out beautiful though! I also got some flowers and new pots for my house (and some herbs, I love cooking with fresh herbs!).



I'm now doing a bit of relaxing watching a movie and getting ready to work on a few flowers. Happy crafting!
