Gotta love the giveaways!

As I was checking out blogs over my lunch break today [which is almost over :o( ], I stumbled upon this great little blog, Crafty Girls Workshop. They have an adorable little shop on Etsy, and are having a little give away for a charm pack of fabric. First of all, who doesn't love a give-away, second, we all must help out fellow Etsiers! And third, I absolutely love the holidays, so I feel in love with the Figgy Pudding charm pack by Moda that is in her give away, and may have to invest in some of those fabrics if I'm not the happy little winner!

I would like to throw a thank you out to Alison Kelley of Alison Kelley Designs for featuring me in her "Artist Reviews and Interviews" today! I talked with here a bit ago when she put a thread out in the forums wanting to find more artists to feature on her website, and she got quite the response!

It was a wonderful surprise to hear that she was put up my interview, especially since I have taken a little break from Etsy lately...which is horrible, I know. I'm getting back to it, I just don't have a lot of new things at the moment, and life has gotten a little busy. But none the less, I have things to post tonight! So be sure to check back to my Shop, and my second Shop, to see my new items!

I hope you all have a wonderful, sunny, creative day!!

Day 13: And it's open!

My inspiration for {yesterday} was actually taking the step to open my second store on Etsy, Starbound Photography! There isn't too many in there just yet, but I have listed a few that I hadn't yet added to my original store, Starbound Studios. Ever since I opened my first store, people have commented that I should have a separate store for my photography, and I was going to maybe, possibly do it eventually, but wasn't sure I wanted to take that step just yet. After having someone in the forums tell me that they were a little confused with how all of the items in my store went together, I decided to just do it. It can't hurt, and its about the buyer's ease, right? So there we are! I have one store for all of my photography, and the other for my handmade items, two passions of mine that I am sure I will forever continue to do!

What inspired you??

Day 11: Light box & bc's

I finally got my light box made today! Had help from my wonderful mother, then took some new photos and got them all posted and updated! Take a look at my Etsy shop, and let me know what you think!

Also, saw a forum thread about business cards, and read thru many of the responses. Quite inspiring I must say (some people showed what their's look like), I've been in a bit of a rut lately, and haven't come up with a very successful design as of yet. I'm still doing a bit of reworking, so hopefully something will come out of it soon!

Sunflowers for Summer

My photograph of some sunflowers along the road was chosen as a part of a Top 10 list this week on the Timoth Adam Design blog: http://timothyadamdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/03/etsy-top-10-monday-32309.html. Make sure to check it out, along with all of the other great items he chose to feature!

Midnight Scarlet

You may be wondering what the title has to do with...well it is the title of the Treasury that I created tonight! I figured since a few people had featured me lately, I would work to get another treasury to create myself. Helping my fellow Etsians! Make sure you check it out, I think its pretty great!! Front page material perhaps?? http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=47255

**Edit: I'm also featured in a treasury tonight! Check it out! http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=47232

And another one!

Treasuries must be the thing right now!! When I checked Etsy at lunch today, I found a convo from Beadliotheque that she included one of my photos in her treasury! Be sure to check it out: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=47003!! Such a great week, and now all I need is a sale to top it off!

Yay for Treasuries!

Imagine my surprise when I looked at www.craftopolis.com today to see if I was in any treasuries (I figured I wouldn't be, because I'm so new, and really, me?), and there I was, in one put together by Mod3rnArt!! My photograph, Sunflower Fancies, is the one she chose for her Treasury. For those who don't know, Treasuries are lists put together by Etsy members of 12 items that fit into a theme they choose, or their favorites, etc. There can only be about 330 lists at one time (sometimes there are more depending on how many people submit at once when there is an opening), and usually expire within 3 days. The Treasuries are also what is picked from to be on the Front Page of Etsy (chosen by the admins). So needless to say, it is quite an honor to be in one! Check it out at: http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=46689. Hope you enjoy it! There are some other great things on there!

Featured!!!

How awesome! So a couple days ago, I replied to a forum of a person looking to feature some Etsy shop owners on her site. I figured I was too new and wouldn't get picked, but I did! Check it out! http://www.bohtieque.com/2009/03/fresh-slices-starbound-studios-samandrea-and-seashell-baby/ Love to Julie at Bohtieque! Thank you much!

10 items!

I finally have 10 items in my store! I was going to just add a few each day...but I got a little excited tonight and just kept posting. I have more to get up there, and am always thinking of more things to make and add! Now to just wait for my first sale..
*This is reposted from my previous (somehow deleted) blog.

I posted my first items in my Etsy store tonight! http://starboundstudios.etsy.com/. Check them out and let me know what you think! I have many more things that I will eventually get into my store, just wanting to space them out a bit at first. I still can't believe how quick it has all come together, and I can't wait to hear what others think! I'm off to do some promoting, have a great night! Happy Monday!

And so it begins...

Hello all and welcome to my blog! I just opened a store on Etsy.com, Starbound Studios at http://starboundstudios.etsy.com/, and can't wait to get it up and running. I have been designing and creating things for as long as I can remember, owned a craft business for 8 years, and am excited to try a new venue for my items. Hope you enjoy!
